So I got to my crashpad a little after 10 PM. I walked out of the South Gate of the Payless Car rental which is about a block from the crashpad and was almost to the crashpad when a car drove by and parked rather close to nothing. I hurried along until I was in the front drive and looked back to see the driver of the previously mentioned car in the middle of the street following me. What a great neighborhood I live in.

There has only been one instance of trouble so far for the pilots here. That incident ended with one of the pilots breaking some thugs leg. From what I understand, it created a good deal of respect for the pilot group here. That lowlife who was following me was obviously not from this area.

My previous crashpad was only a few blocks from here. I never had any problems there, but there really haven't been any problems here either except the leg breaking incident.

I went skiing today for the first time in a long while. It was fun. Jason Hacketts family was in town and we all went for a half day at snowbird. I go back to St. Louis tonight for a trip I start early tomorrow. There is officially pilots that are junior to me seniority-wise, that are upgrading to Captain on the J-41 ( our 30 seat Turbo-prop). So when I get the total time I need I will be upgrading. That will be great. There will be people junior to me already so I may not ever sit reserve for this company. What a great thing that is.

I was able to pick up a Newark overnight so I could work instead of staying all that time in St Louis. I am at Justin's place now in Manhatten. We are getting ready to go to dinner and then a friend of his is playing in a band somewhere in Brooklyn. Anyway, it should be fun. The Captain, Flight Attendant, and I had lunch in China Town. It was good. See ya.

That is sad. How did he live through that?

I am in Charlotte for a while. I end up in Nashville tonight and I am done quite early tomorrow, unfortunately I need to work a one day trip on Saturday or I would be home tomorrow and able to go skiing with Jason and his family who are going to be in Utah.

Keith, a flight instructor fell out the airplane leaving a 17 year old alone in the plane, which he later crashed. The boy is in critical condition now. I was reminded of your story about the door opening on you that once.

Matilda's school had a Saturday makeup class that parents could attend. It was fun to see what her days are like. It's amazing how much wiggling and wandering attentions there are in a single classroom.

It's been warmish here, melting a bit and then snowing more. Definitely not February weather here.

A snowman sounds fun. We had a great time flying in snow and poor visibility today. We got stuck in Ithaca, NY for a while because the runways were so icy the braking was reported "Nil" which pretty much just shuts the airport down. They plowed it and poured dirt on it and it improved so we were only delayed an hour and fifteen minutes or so. Now I am in Elmira, another snowed in city. The runway was beautiful and white with only the lights down the side showing through. It was fun. We are here for the night.

Well I went to Charlotte to watch the Superbowl with some friends. It was fun. Too bad they ended up losing. I am in St. Louis for the night with an early show tomorrow. I fly with a guy named Joe. Joe was my Simulator Partner when I was initially training on the ATR. He was upgrading at that time to Captain. It should be fun to fly with him.
