Some interesting crime statistics: New York City has less crime per capita than Provo, Utah. And let's not even talk about Salt Lake. Plus, New York's murder totals are from 2001, counting the WTC dead. Thursday, February 27, 2003
Hey everyone, Well, one of our Black Molly fish had babies, there is about a million of them! They are so fast. It was so hard to catch them all and put them in a separate net. Not much else going on. We just played some phase 10 with Tuula, we didn't finish because of the baby fish. Anyways, does Anneli have her call sign yet? Wednesday, February 26, 2003
Mom, I wrote form Charlotte. Anyway, we have a modem we don't use. We need to get it to Cindy. I got my first chooice on schedules next month. There were two days I wanted off. Amanda and my Aniversary, and Amandas Birthday. Only two lines had both of those days off. Thank Goodness I got one. Amanda's birthday is on Tuesday the 18th. We are planning to celebrate with speed and excitement at Nascart in West Valley. It is a little pricey ,so maybe just a race or two. Last time we went one race wore us out. It was 40 laps long and Clay and Timo dominated the scene. All are invited. Congrats to the new HAM. What's your call sign? Talk to everyone later. -KJH Tuesday, February 25, 2003
Melina and I didn't have time for too much stuff on our northern California trip, but just driving around was amazing. The road from Redding to Eureka is fabulous. Napa valley is nice. We didn't have time to take any vinyard tours, but there were plenty. The traffic there is horrible, though as you enter town and cruise the main highway. (Actually, "cruise" is the wrong word. "Creep" is more like it.) But if you're not in a hurry then it's fine. (We were.) Of course redwoods, etc. are good. Sunday, February 23, 2003
Hey all. I am in Charlotte. Tiina, we play on YAHOO! I like the Zone.com for games, myself, but Yahoo has the pool. Check them both out. Go to Yahoo Games, and Zone.com Unfortunately the Zone has a few more signing in issues. Yahoo is quick and easy. Anyway... Flying has been good. Some strong winds. Chased tornado weather out of Houston, and Charlotte. Great Captain. Most senior guy in the company. So long all. -KJH Friday, February 21, 2003

That's funny Mom. I am glad you won at Spider. I am in Utah as Amanda said, but only for two days. Next month the lines all look pretty good. I get 13 days off at least. So anyway, I will talk to you all later. -KJH Hello all, Great games last night! It was alot of fun. Keith will be home tonight and will stay until Saturday I think. Not much else going on. Bye! Amanda Tuesday, February 18, 2003
Here's the site on the San Rafael Swell. Scroll down to the Eastern Reef section for info on the canyons Timo mentioned. I see the point of stopping there, but Escalante seems pretty cool. I'd hate missing Spooky. Did you see the picture? But this Tom raves about Little Wild Horse and Bell Canyons, too. I'm getting more and more excited. Sometimes I even think it's too bad I live so far from such cool stuff. I don't care which Brazilian place we'd go to, Mom and Keith just said the Provo place was better. I like the Trolley Square place just fine. For Melina's sake, whichever has the best veggie selection is where I want to go. Here's a excellent site about the canyons. If you look around this guy's site he's got all kinds of good info, plus a lot more info on the area. The 3rd is the day we get to Utah at 2 in the afternoon. I can't imagine Matilda and Owen want to spend 6 hours travelling in a plane and then going straight in the car for several more hours. I'd rather leave early in the morning on the 4th after resting a little bit. (And eating at the Brazilian place in Provo!) Monday, February 17, 2003
Hey Everyone, Tuula the 3rd sounds good to us. Except we probably won't make it until later that night because I have school. We can stay until Saturday, or I will anyways, i'm not sure what Keith's schedule is. Anyways, Talk to ya'll later, Amanda Sunday, February 16, 2003
Hi Everyone, We were unable to go to Cincinnatti this weekend because my sister's family is sick. So I have been working on alot of homework to get ahead. Keith and I have been playing pool online every night since he's been gone. If anyone wants to join us please do! Not much else going on. What is everyone doing for Pres. day? Talk to you later, Amanda Saturday, February 15, 2003

Mom, Matilda's account was shut down, but I've reactivated it now. I got your card, but she did not. Thursday, February 13, 2003

Hi Everyone, Keith is back home and we are up for playing some games. Timo- Thanks for letting me stay over while Keith was gone. It was fun. Anyways, talk to you later, Amanda Sunday, February 09, 2003
It was a good game. Sad that it takes three of us to beat him. Melina and Owen will leave Utah on Tuesday morning, April 8th. I'd really like to camp. If we we went out Saturday morning then we could return Monday afternoon. That would be ok. Maybe Keith and Amanda can stay the first night? Also, the concert sounds good. Matilda loves classical music. Mom, I wouldn't worry about us here in Finland. Saturday, February 08, 2003
Hey everyone, It was so fun playing conquerors last night. It was also fun beating Keith. We'd love to go camping but I have school on Monday and Tuesday that week. Keith and I could just go up on Saturday with you all and spend the day or whatever. I also have a BYU symphony concert on the night of the 8th if anyone wants to go. It should be really good. We are playing Mozart, Haydn, Dvorak, and Von Suppe. I dropped Keith off at the airport today and he will probably be back tomorrow afternoon. Anyways, talk to you all later, Love, Amanda Friday, February 07, 2003
Hello all. I am feeling much much better. And tomorrow I go back to St. Louis after this extended break. It was the most enjoyable 12 days off I've ever had. Mark is an official HAM. He even has his radio and has made contact with one KD7OUQ. That's Timo. Mark was looking up Hoggards on the FCC site. He said only a dozen or so Hoggards have their Radio Licenses. So long all. -KJH Wednesday, February 05, 2003
Here's a site with some places that might be interesting. I especially liked Spooky and Peek-a-boo. I'm not sure which one is pictured here. Monday, February 03, 2003
Mark's right, there are too many places to see. We ought to pick one place with maybe a couple things nearby. I want to rest and relax out there, not keep driving around jumping from one place to another. A place where we can hike, let the kids play, and just enjoy being oudoors would be great. What about Escalante and the slot canyons down there? I guess our desire is somewhere scenic, somewhere interesting, and maybe somewhere to fish. Sunday, February 02, 2003
Hey all, Keith is feeling alot better. Topaz Mountain sounds so fun. I have never been there before. My family is talking about maybe coming out and going with us wherever we go. My visit with my Dad was too short. He had to leave to go to Newark this morning. I can't believe the snow. I hate it. Anyways, Happy Birthday to Collin! Talk to you all later. Love, Amanda |
